Together We Are (TWA) is a series for parents /caregivers of Black Children ages 6-11 in the Durham Region.
Empowering Families.
Exploring a variety of parenting topics through discussions and sharing of practical cultural strategies. We address the issues of anti-Black racism in a collaborative and supportive family environment.
Parents will have the opportunity to:
Unpack culture and Identity
Strengthen parent-child relationships
Gain communication skills and tools
Learn about self-care
Enhance parenting styles
Affirm and support each other
Share and learn about the community support resources.
Your children will have the opportunity to participate in fun culturally-based activities.

This is for youth in and/or impacted by the Durham Child Welfare system. This Council was created to make positive and necessary changes within the child welfare system for Black youth in and out of foster care.
